Designed by the electrical training ALLIANCE, VEEP addresses two critical needs in the United States: providing veterans with a pathway to a high-demand field and supplying the electrical industry with skilled labor.

Program Overview:

  • Duration: 7 weeks
  • Location: San Diego, California

  • Training Commences: October 7, 2024

What Is VEEP?

VEEP is a pre-apprenticeship program that prepares veterans for direct entry into electrical apprenticeships across the country. Here’s how it works:

  1. No Cost to Participants: VEEP is provided at no cost to participants. You can even complete the program while transitioning out of the military.
  2. Choose Your Destination: Before attending VEEP, decide where in the United States you’d like to live and work after completing the program.
  3. Direct Entry Agreement: The electrical training ALLIANCE facilitates an agreement for your direct entry into the Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee (JATC) center in your chosen location.
  4. Eligibility:
    1. Recently separated (5 years) veterans from all military services including Coast Guard, National Guard, and Reserve are eligible.
    1. Active-duty personnel attending under the SkillBridge agreement can also participate
    1. National Guard, and Reserve service members also qualify.
    1. DD-214 showing an Honorable or General, Under Honorable Conditions discharge is required.

Cohort 3 in San Diego:

  • Start Date: October 7, 2024
  • Duration: 7 weeks
  • End Date: November 22, 2024
